The show has been accused of manipulation, after it emerged that the first week of the 'live shows' were going to be pre-recorded.
Last week's final 24 show was 'pre-taped', and the same will occur this week.
But the show's boss Nigel Lythcoe defended the move.
He tweeted: 'There is a load of crap being discussed all the contestants sing ‘live.’ The show has always been recorded to the West Coast.
'We are pre-taping for 2 weeks as we have a new Director & new judges. It has nothing to do with manipulation you morons.'
